Port of Galveston Cruise Terminals
The Port of Galveston is the 4th-busiest cruise port in the United States and the busiest in Texas, moving nearly 4 million passengers through its terminals each year. Carnival sails from Terminal 1 (2502 Harborside Dr, Galveston, TX 77550) and Terminal 2 (2525 Harborside Dr); Royal Caribbean sails from Terminal 10; Disney Cruise Line also sails seasonally from the port. Bus drop-off is curbside on Harborside Dr in front of each terminal.

Galveston Island State Park
Galveston Island State Park is a 2,000-acre Texas Parks & Wildlife property on the western end of the island, offering Gulf beach access, bay-side kayaking, birding trails, camping, and interpretive programs. It is one of the most popular school field trip destinations in the Galveston area and a great option for corporate and group outdoor outings. Day-use entry is $5 per person (age 13 and up).

The Strand Historic District
The Strand Historic District (Strand St between 20th and 25th St, Galveston, TX 77550) is a National Historic Landmark District of Victorian-era commercial buildings that served as the commercial heart of Galveston in the late 1800s. Today it is home to galleries, boutiques, restaurants, and bars — and the epicenter of Galveston's two biggest annual events: Mardi Gras Galveston (February 6–17, 2026) and Dickens on the Strand (first weekend of December). The Strand is a one-way street running westbound.
Bus drop-off is typically on 23rd or 25th St cross-streets. The closest bus-friendly staging area is the surface parking lots along Harborside Dr, one block south of the Strand. During Mardi Gras and Dickens, road closures around the Strand are significant — confirm current event access guidance with the Mardi Gras Galveston organizers or the Galveston Historical Foundation before your visit.
